Holidays and Accommodation on Tour de France Routes

It’s one thing to watch the Tour on TV – but nothing quite beats seeing it live and riding the routes! If you’re considering a cycling holiday as a Tour de France spectator, read our guide to planning your trip and selecting the best spot on the route.

Stage 17: 2021 Tour de France

The location for one of the sprints in 2021 and regular stage finish hosts the Pyrenean town of Bagneres-de-Luchon is twinned with the Yorkshire town of Harrogate. Famous Tour de France climbs from 2021 within pedaling distance of the town include Col de Peyresourde, Col de Val Louron-Azet, and Col du Portet, and the Tourmalet is also manageable. Plan your rides around your abilities by working with hosts who provide organised cycling holidays or accommodation only trips.

In 2021 and again this year [2022] the tour, although not passing through directly, is still relatively local, on the Carcassonne-Foix stages, that pass through nearby Chalabre with GC sprints in Lavelanet.
